Frequently Asked Questions

My Estate Sorted is an Estate Planning Organizer.

It helps you bring your Essential Life Information together in one organized place, so the people you love can find the information they may need when they need it most.

Your Will is an important legal document, but it doesn't necessarily tell your loved ones where everything is or provide all the practical information they may need. My Estate Sorted works alongside your Will, helping provide the information and guidance that can make things easier for your executor and loved ones.

My Estate Sorted - Estate Planning Organizer guides you through the important areas of your life, including personal information, finances, pensions/retirement funds, insurance, medical and legal information, utilities, vehicles, social media and digital information,  employment,  high value reward cards, pets, important contacts and funeral wishes.

Not at all. If you have accounts, possessions, responsibilities, people or pets who depend on you, or simply information somebody else may one day need, there is value in having it organized.

That's exactly why it can be useful. You don't need to complete everything at once. Start with what you know and work through it at your own pace. You don't have to be organized to get organized.

You may know exactly where everything is — but does the person who will be dealing with your affairs know? My Estate Sorted helps turn the information you carry in your head or keep in different places into something another person can actually navigate.

Yes. The different cover designs contain the same organized interior content. Simply choose the design you like most — whether you're buying for yourself or giving one as a gift.

Absolutely. It can be a thoughtful and practical gift for a parent, partner, family member or friend — particularly for birthdays, retirement, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas or simply because you care.

This is a really good question for us commercially. I'd answer: couples can record shared household information together, but because each person may have individual financial, medical, digital, personal and other information, having an Organizer for each person can provide the clearest record.

Somewhere secure but accessible to the person who may eventually need it. Most importantly, make sure a trusted person or your executor knows that it exists and where it is kept.  Many keep it in a Conference binder/folder with a double zip and padlock it. Others complete it and put it in a tape sealed and signed envelope but most complet it and put it with their Will.

Whenever something important changes — and we suggest a regular review at least once a year.  Anything you feel may change in the future we suggest you write in pencil.

A short self-assessment that asks you to put yourself in your loved ones' shoes: if you weren't here, how many of their questions could they answer? It helps identify gaps and gives you a clearer picture of how prepared you currently are.

No. My Estate Sorted is an organizational resource and does not replace professional legal, financial, taxation or other advice. It is designed to work alongside the professionals and documents you already have.
